LAWLESS (FEATURING 1920s BANE!!)

*in Bane voice* Let the games begin!
It's the 1920s, and while gangsters like Al Capone are running illegal liquor rings being hunted by the likes of Elliot Ness, the Bodurant brothers are being muscled in on by such gangsters when their fame spreads beyond the hillbilly countryside where they live.  Bane (Tom Hardy), Sam Witwicky (Shia Labouf) & the third Bodurant brother (big bruiser Jason Clarke) are in the bootlegging business selling moonshine (not copies of Dark Knight Rises DVDs).

Be honest, for $5 a pop you know you'd get Dark Knight Rises too!

Legend has it, in their neck of the woods, that the Bodurant brothers cannot be killed....and big bro Bane does a wonderful job of making this look true!  As with almost every other movie he's in, Guy Pearce once again does a TREMENDOUS job as a supporting actor (seriously, the guy can portray a good guy & bad guy with the greatest of ease and is thoroughly convincing either way) as a slick haired germaphobe who wants Bane's brother's business in the worst way!
 "My hair makes me awesome!"

An honorable mention in this awesome flick is Commissioner Gordon who apparently followed Bane into the 1920s and is a gangster himself.....and a convincingly MEAN one too!!  Although you won't see much of him, the time you do see him is very memorable.
"I'd like to see Joker try it now"

All in all, this movie is GREAT.  I love old school gangster flicks, I really like Shia Labouf as an actor (even though he was a little annoying in this as a dude who runs away to hide behind his brothers all the time) and as always, Tom Hardy is a scene stealer who will make you cheer him on!  Jason Clarke does a fine job as the third Bodurant brother, and the bad guy from Chronicle is an important character who makes you forget what a jerk he was and makes you feel sorry for him in here.
"Al Capone? Now would be a good time to call those Autobots"

My rating:
4.700001983869 out of 5 stars
Not only are the main actors great, but you've got some superstar supporting actors in here as well who all deliver big.  I guarantee you that you'll remember their roles and you may want to see this a second time...I know I will!
Live Long & Prosper
