But I'm back kids! And I've got today's Shocktober pick along with the picks from the last 2 days I missed! So let's jump in!
It may be hard to stay in a hotel after seeing this flick...
Day 7: 1408
John Cusack is a skeptic. A very good skeptic. He specializes in seeking out "haunted" locations and debunking the myths. So, naturally, when he hears about the most haunted hotel room EVER, he has to go in and prove everyone wrong. As his evening in the room rolls on, we are offered a look deeper into his psyche and see why he has such a strong disbelief of the supernatural. The problem is that the supernatural doesn't care what he believes in! Craziness ensues as he finds himself trapped in room 1408 with the disturbing manager (Samuel L. Jackson) lurking around warning him of the dangers.

Day 8: The Cube
I cannot remember how it was that I came across this movie, but I remember thinking "wow, I've found a true gem!" while watching it.
Seven years before Saw took the horror world by storm, The Cube brought to life the concept of torturous and murderous "traps".
Six people awake in a strange set of rooms and have no idea where they are or why they are there. As the film progresses, they reveal more about themselves and come to realize where they are: a giant cube that is made of multiple rooms that constantly move within the cube and contain traps.
The group quickly decide they need to stick together and utilize their specific skill sets to make it out of the cube.
This sci-fi horror film does not contain monsters or supernatural phenomena, but contains the scariest of creatures: humans trapped together in close quarters with rising tempers!

Day 9: The Descent
A group of adventurous, sport-loving women go spelunking in a cave to build more memories with each other. What all but one of the group do not know is that the cave network they are exploring is an uncharted network with unknown dangers!
Aside from not knowing where the exit to the caves are, the women face the issue of having to deal with some rather unsavory characters who live in the caves.
I must have watched this flick about 6 times already. I really like The Descent because it preys on the natural fear of the dark, fear of the unknown, and fear of being torn apart by savage humanoids.

Once again, I'm sorry for not posting regularly the last few days, but I will continue to keep Shocktober going strong!
