MOVIES YOU NEVER SAW: "HELL"
Like the post-apocalyptic genre? Well this little diddy here is a nice watch for a day at home!
First thing you have to know about this flick is that it's in German with English subtitles (in case you don't like reading during a movie).
In the future, the Sun burns a little hotter causing the Earth's temperature to raise about 10 degrees Celsius (I have absolutely no idea what that actually means), and as a result, the land is barren and things like food and water are scarce. We follow a trio who are trying to make it to a place in the mountains where they've heard rumors that there's water and even some living animals (either the animals died from the weather or people have eaten them as food runs out).
Although it's a good film, there's nothing outrageously special about Hell, but what does set it apart is the circumstance of the Apocalypse. While the premise of the Sun heating up the planet is cool, it seems that the director (who also directed post-apocalyptic films The Day After Tomorrow and 2012) almost forgot about that about 10 minutes in. While the scenery is blinding, the heat is apparently not a factor anymore though one of the earliest scenes shows the protagonist burning his hand when trying to open the gas tank on his car.
Other than that, it really is a good movie that keeps you engaged from the beginning and wondering who's actually a good guy or a bad guy. To give you a `point of reference as to what you can expect from this movie, I'd say it's a reverse Waterworld (instead of the Earth being flooded with people looking for dry land, it's barren with people looking for water) mixed with Book of Eli (as far as the scenery is concerned).
I definitely recommend this flick that I'm pretty sure you NEVER SAW!!
My rating:

Catch you on the flipside!
