You've got 7 days......before next week gets here.
One of the greatest horror movies of all time, The Ring brought a new perspective to ghost stories here in America (it was a remake of the scariest Japanese movie ever made, Ringu) when it hit screens here.
There is a video cassette tape floating around that is said to be cursed. Upon viewing the ancient piece of technology full of disturbing images, the viewer then receives a phone call where they are simply told "seven days". On the seventh day, the viewer dies at the hands of a scary and mysterious ghost girl.
A girl will do anything to make a guy stop watching television! |
This flick follows her throughout the seven days before her anticipated death as she digs as deep as possible to find the origins for the tape and break the curse while seemingly falling apart.
Can she do it?

To this day I both enjoy, and am frightened, to watch The Ring. Not only are the special effects of this movie just great, but the cinematography was tremendous as well.
The "ghost girl" in this film is scary and I love the ending of the movie (which prompted a decent sequel).
If you need anymore reason than what you already have for not watching video tapes, this movie will give it to you!
