When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.....
Let's get this out of the way: the original Dawn of the Dead movie is still a classic and groundbreaking movie in the zombie realm.
That being said, let's move into recent decades with the remake. After all, young people these days are not going to enjoy original movies from yesteryear like some of us do unless they are true cinema fans.
The zombpocalypse has hit. Zombies are running full speed destroying everyone in sight.
Dawn of the Dead is aptly titled because as the sun rises, the dead are walking the earth.....well, they're not walking, they're running.
We follow a nurse, a policeman and a couple who happen to come across each other in the aftermath of the downfall of society. They come across a closed mall and figure it to be the best place to hide and survive.
We journey with them as they make the best of their situation, meet new people who may or may not be good for the group and see some great zombie deaths!

I really like this film. I'm a big fan of running zombies (I can't understand why people have a problem with them. They're zombies. Get over it) and adding the running element to a classic George Romero zombie flick just makes them more intimidating!
A high point for me was seeing Ty Burrell (who plays Phil on Modern Family) play the complete jerk in this film. This is actually the first film I took notice of him as an actor. This movie is also rounded out by very formddable performances by Ving Rhames and Mekhi Phifer.
What would you do in light of a zombie apocalypse? Who would you want to have with you? How would you survive?
I think I'd just go to a food warehouse and hold it down as long as possible! Maybe two or three other people, but that's it.
