The dogs of war have arrived.....
We're halfway through Shocktober and I realized I haven't posted a single werewolf movie yet...and for good reason: there aren't many scary werewolf movies out there.
Notice, I said "scary". There are plenty of wolf flicks but, for some reason, they are either comical (Teen Wolf, Big Bad Wolf) or just not scary (Cursed, Underworld). There are a few other lupine films that are definitely worth posting on here, and I will do so, but for now we'll get rolling on this one.
Dog Soldiers is one of those rare oddities in the film industry. It is probably one of the most underrated and little known horror movies, yet the majority of audiences have either heard the title or have seen the poster for it somewhere at some time.
Set in Scotland, a squad from the British Army are attacked by unseen enemies. When help is offered to them, they are taken to a secluded house.
The house is soon surrounded by their attackers: werewolves! The squad most rely on their intense training to survive the onslaught of these mythical creatures.

First of all, let's discuss what makes these werewolves one of the best around: the look. They look realistic, scary, and I really love that they're the type that stand upright (not were-bears like Jacob and his posse in Twilight).
The story is well executed and the movie is intense from beginning to end. The action is great and unwavering.
I HIGHLY recommend this underrated flick!
