TOP 7 NETFLIX PIX

So I sit here at home after a long day of work and what do I do?  Why work on bringing you more movie goodness of course!  The weekend is upon us and whether you're going out or staying in, I've got some flicks you can put right on from Netflix Instant and enjoy right away!  With this list, you're set for the next 7 days!

Donnie Yen is a tremendous martial artist and someone who I will always recommend seeing in film because he's so awesome!  This film is about a man named Chen Zhen (sound familiar?  Bruce Lee brought this character to life in the classic movie The Chinese Connection then Jet Li took on this role in Fist of Legend), who comes home to do some major damage on the Japanese people trying to muscle in on Chinese territory.  Why is it called "The Return"?  Because Donnie Yen also starred as Chen Zhen in a television series!  The action sequences were tremendous and I really liked how there was a bit of history involved.  Great action flick!

Disturbing.  Disturbing because this stuff can and does happen.  Simply put: a father (Clive Owen) becomes obsessed with finding an online predator who takes his daughter's innocence.

Don't look for action or suspense or anything like that.  It's a movie about a man seeking justice using the system and how the system just doesn't work.

This was a nice little horror movie, and I believe it was Kevin Costner's first supernatural thriller in his illustrious career.  I really enjoyed it.  A man moves to a house with his children and believes something is affecting his daughter who begins to have a change in attitude.  Little does he know he and his family are in more danger than he would ever imagine.

Ah the 80's....where would film be without that wonderful decade?  A social worker is known for not just dealing with children, but finding lost ones.  He is approached by a client who is not looking for just any child, but one who can bring peace to the world!  While trying to find the Golden Child, our hero meets a couple of supernatural beings and gets into different types of shenanigans.  Yes, the premise is dumb, yes the movie is cheesy, but it's a nice flick to catch starring a young Eddie Murphy (back when he had that iconic and stupid laugh) on an afternoon when you aren't doing anything better.

A nice grouping of some Hollywood funny men & women in a race to reach a fortune.  If you're older (or just a fan of movies like I am because the following film reference is way before my time), you remember a little movie called "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World" where a bunch of people from different backgrounds and lives are trying to find the same treasure.  Rat Race has the same basic premise, only with a modern twist.  I found this movie to be quite funny still to this day even though it's a few years old.

Ok...I really complained about this movie when I saw it in the theater.  I gave it such a hard time because of the ending.  HOWEVER, Liam Neeson is still the man and after knowing what the ending would bring, I actually enjoyed the movie the second and third time I saw it.  You won't look away as Neeson punches wolves in the face!

The first stand-up comedy I'm recommending.  There's the greats we all know in stand-up, but you'd be surprised at how funny some of the lesser known comedians are.  John Caparulo is that lesser known comedian.  His voice will take some getting used to as it is a little annoying, but his jokes are hilarious!  Give this a shot if you feel like laughing!

Hope you get to check out a couple of these picks, and let me know what you think!
