DIE HARD
The one that started it all. The one that made John McClane a household name and Bruce Willis a major action star! He initially appeared in TV shows and starred in the hit show Moonlighting, but one year after portraying bare foot New York City cop, McClane, Willis wrapped up Moonlighting and went on to become one of Hollywood's top dogs.
Ok, history lesson is over. Now onto awesomeness:
We're introduced to NYPD Officer John McClane who is visiting his wife for a Christmas party at her high rise job. Taking the advice of a fellow traveler on his flight over to see his wife, he takes off his shoes and socks at the building to take in the atmosphere and relax. Right at that moment, terrorists (led by Professor Snape from Harry Potter) invade the building and everything goes to hell! Now McClane (being the only one not taken hostage) has to cap the bad guys one by one with the help of Karl Winslow (remember the show Family Matters?).
^Interesting note: we get to see McClane's son and daughter briefly in here as kids.
Lots of bullets, blood and curses to fill your man meter to the brim!
My Rating:
5 out of 5 stars!!!
DIE HARD 2: DIE HARDER
Two years after breaking the box office wide open with his legendary McClane debut, Willis returns for the sub-par Die Hard sequel. This time McClane (now having joined the LAPD after deciding to stay with his wife) is in an airport trying to stop rogue military men from taking it over in Washington DC.
Again, lots of blood, bullets and curses....only it didn't deliver quite as well as the first installment. It's worth a watch and worth seeing just because of the "Die Hard" name, but it falls way short in my opinion compared to the other installments in the franchise.

DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE
We're brought back into the world of Officer John McClane who is now back with the NYPD again, but suspended and an alcoholic. He's down and out and has no future....until bombs start going off in his New York City home turf. It's discovered that the serial bomber (Scar, from Lion King) is the brother of the main terrorist from the first Die Hard film and he's seeking....wait for it.....VENGEANCE!
With the addition of Samuel L Jackson, some nice twists in the plot and just epic action sequences, this movie brought the series back to dominance and left us wanting more McClane!

LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD
Twelve years and many awesome movies later, Willis reprises his legendary role of John McClane! Keeping up with the times, we are now in the technological age and are treated to a battle between old school hard nosed smashmouth tough guy McClane and computer geeks trying to cripple the system over the Internet. With Samuel L Jackson adding great value as a partner, it seemed the makers of this fourth film thought it be wise to give John another partner....and it worked! Justin Long does a tremendous job helping McClane to understand that his way of crime fighting is obsolete against the terrorists (led by the always awesome Timothy Olyphant) who are trying to get paid. This doesn't mean McClane doesn't see any action. Quite the opposite! Bigger stunts, bigger explosions and bigger attitude, McClane is aging well and still kicking butt....especially when the terrorists think it to be a good idea to take his daughter! OH NO THEY DIDN'T!!

4.58275892398 out of 4 stars
A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD
Now five years after we last saw McClane save his daughter from the bad guys, it seems we have him and his son (who's now all grown up also) team up to take on bad guys!
I love the Die Hard series and can't wait to see A Good Day to Die Hard this weekend! Are you seeing it? What do you think about the series?
Yippee Ki Yay!
