HEY, IT'S WHATS-HIS-FACE!

Two nights ago we were treated to Oscar night, where Academy Awards are given to notable actors (and others) for their tremendous works on some of our favorite movies.

On a night like that, we expect to see actors like Denzel Washington, Daniel Day-Lewis, Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and others of their "caliber".

Well I believe there are other actors out there who are just as good (if not better sometimes) because their presence in the movies with the stars makes it that much more memorable.  Below is a short list of actors we've all seen and said "hey, what movie was he in?!"  I believe these actors are among the most versatile and talented in Hollywood (most even more so than their superstar counterparts); they've played everything from henchmen extras to menacing villains to the funny sidekicks.  They make the movies and shows they're in more enjoyable and we always remember these unsung heroes.....even if we don't remember their names!

Peter Stormare
A highly recognizable actor who has appeared in more blockbusters, cult classics and big star studded movies than you know!

His film resume includes:
Fargo
The Big Lebowski
Armageddon (remember the awesome crazy Russian dude?)
Minority Report
Bad Boys 2
Constantine (click here to check out a post about his epic performance as the devil in this flick!)
The Last Stand

Stephen Root
Whether you recognized him or not, you've seen Mr Root in many movies you've seen.  He can be funny, evil and pitiful convincingly.

His film resume includes:
Crocodile Dundee II
Ghost
Buffy The Vampire SLayer (the movie)
Robocop 3
Office Space (one of the funniest movies in history!  If you haven't seen it, watch it NOW!)
Finding Nemo (he loved bubbles!)
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
No Country For Old Men
Unthinkable (one of the most underrated movies of all time)
Red State

Clifton Collins Jr
I remember when I first saw him in a movie and thought "wow, that's an ugly dude."  He then popped up in a bunch of movies and TV shows in which I instantly recognized him.

His film resume includes:
Poetic Justice
Dead Presidents
The Replacement Killers (where I first saw him)
Traffic
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (best game ever.  He was the voice of Cesar)
Capote
Babel
Star Trek (2009 movie)
Crank: High Voltage
The Experiment (severely unknown movie you MUST see)
Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Kevin Durand
One of my favorite actors of this lot.  Durand, in my opinion, is awesome as the towering bad guy with the bad attitude.  He's got the bad guy look and size and has the acting ability to play a villain of different origins.

His film resume includes:
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
The Butterfly Effect
Walking Tall
Big Momma's House 2
Smokin' Aces
Wild Hogs
3:10 To Yuma
Legion
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Robin Hood (2010 film)
I Am Number Four
Real Steel
Resident Evil: Retribution
The Mortal InstrumentsJ: City of Bones (coming out soon)

Mark Boone Junior
Known widely as "Bobby" because of his awesomeness in the show Sons of Anarchy, Boone has made appearances in many great films.  Usually playing the scruffy vet with surprising wisdom, his acting has stretched beyond that in his career.

Can you spot him in these films?
Die Hard 1
Of Mice and Men
The Quick and the Dead
Se7en
The Game
Vampires (epic vamp movie.  His death in here has to be one of the best in movie history)
Armageddon
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer
Memento
2 Fast 2 Furious
Batman Begins
30 Days of Night
Halloween II (2009 film)

Walton Goggins
That monstrous forehead...but still, such a great actor who is pretty much typecast as a hillbilly redneck in whatever he plays.  But he has a way of making each character he plays unique.  He's not only had legendary runs in TV shows The Shield and Justified (along with the performance of a lifetime in an episode of Sons of Anarchy), but he's appeared in great movies as well.

You've seen him in:
Forever Young
The Next Karate Kid
Shanghai Noon
Joy Ride
The Bourne Identity
Predators
Cowboys & Aliens
Django Unchained
G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Giovanni Ribisi
Oh you know this man.  You may not know him by name, but you know you've seen him all over the place when he appears on your screen!  From The Wonder Years to Friends to Gone in 60 Seconds, Ribisi has worked alongside the best Hollywood has to offer and is usually just as memorable as them!

Let's see what shenanigans he's been involved in:
The Postman
Saving Private Ryan
Gone in Sixty Seconds
Flight of the Phoenix
Public Enemies
Avatar
Contraband
Ted
Gangster Squad

So what do you think?

Did you know these guys already?  Do you remember seeing them in these, or other, movies?

Who else can you think of that's a "what's-his-face"?
