LAWLESS (FEATURING 1920s BANE!!)

*in Bane voice* Let the games begin!
It's the 1920s, and while gangsters like Al Capone are running illegal liquor rings being hunted by the likes of Elliot Ness, the Bodurant brothers are being muscled in on by such gangsters when their fame spreads beyond the hillbilly countryside where they live.  Bane (Tom Hardy), Sam Witwicky (Shia Labouf) & the third Bodurant brother (big bruiser Jason Clarke) are in the bootlegging business selling moonshine (not copies of Dark Knight Rises DVDs).

FACE/OFF (JOHN WOO IS THE SLO MO KING!)

"OK, Plan B: Let's just kill each other"

What can be said about John Travolta and Nicolas Cage in their acting prime?  They completely sold this movie!  Yes, there's the typical (awesome) John Woo Slo Mo with excess fireworks, explosions, gunshots, bombs, etc... but unlike Paycheck (John Woo's failed attempt at making Ben Affleck look like an action star after bombing in Daredevil), all the extra special effects were not in vain because Cage & Travolta brought believability to their characters.

MY RATING SYSTEM

I started reviewing movies once in awhile on Facebook a few years ago.

I later began rating the movies along with my reviews after getting Netflix & discovering their rating system.

SEEKING JUSTICE

"The Hungry Rabbit Jumps"...er, I mean, "Justice"....er, I mean, "Seeking Justice"
After two title changes, Spiderman himself (Tobey Maguire) produces a little known and widely rejected movie called "Seeking Justice".

WHY I DO WHAT I DO!

This blog in and of itself is a personal accomplishment that came about after one of the most special people in my life encouraged me to just stop procrastinating & do what I purpose to do NOW!  So this is a big "THANK YOU" to that special butterfly! Here's a message from the heart for them:

Aww...How cute!

TOTAL RECALL (2012 REMAKE)

Unfortunately, I did what everyone else my age did & compared this movie to the original scene by scene.

It's a little different, but if you pay attention to the smallest details, there were a bunch of similarities in the dialogue & scenes. For example, a woman gets pulled to the side when she
shows her passport & anyone who saw the original would assume the woman was actually Colin Ferrell because she was the one Arnold was disguised as.

Little things like that.
