"It appears we have a problem of some magnitude"
One of my favorite horror movies, The Mist (starring the talented Thomas Jane) brings us a new look on new monsters, but it shows us who the worst and scariest monsters can be: humans.
A catastrophic storm causes a small town in Maine much destruction. In its wake, a dense mist approaches and eventually engulfs the town. It's then revealed that there are "things" lurking in the mist!
We tag along with a small group of people who take shelter from the mist in a supermarket and begin dealing with the ordeal in different ways.
While the group tries to survive, various monsters try to make them their dinner.

I must have watched this flick over 20 times and I still enjoy it every sitting. While the monsters were creepy and the mist intimidating, the real horror comes from how people react to chaos when they're in close quarters with others!
Above all, the dialogue is what really delivers the fright as it explores where the monsters may come from and what people use as a means to cope with the impossible.
I love Stephen King books and movies, could this be one of his best? What do you think?
