HERE COMES THE BOOM (READY OR NOT!!)

The King of Queens is now the Lord of the Ring!
This rock em', sock em' comedy sees Doug Heffernan as a school teacher trying to help his colleague (The Fonz) and students by raising money in the infamous Octagon to keep the school from closing.
Now a slim, trim, lean, mean fighting machine, Kevin James does a great job of making his character look like a normal every day guy turn into a decent fighter in the MMA world.  Don't go looking for epic & realistic fight sequences like the ones in Warrior...but they're just believable enough to make you think the King of Queens can pull off the win against more experienced fighters than himself.

A real MMA movie

I really enjoyed the appearances of of the UFC fighters and really liked the role of Bas Rutten (who has appeared in multiple films with Kevin James along with an appearance in King of Queens) as the trainer.  For those who don't know: Rutten is a legendary MMA fighter, and to see him play the 'silly' guy and deliver big time was awesome!!

As with all his movies, Kevin James plays the lovable teddy bear with the sad eyes and big heart, and he brings the laughs as always.  I felt this was one of his best movies so far, if not THE best movie he's starred in other than his costarring role in the movie Hitch (which is one of my all time favorite films).

"I can fight....now I just need to learn how to dance"
While the fighting throughout the movie was good, the final fight was excellent and delivered on the emotion of wanting to win the fight for the kids.

"Tell Carrie to have dinner ready after I'm done kicking butt."
This is one of those films I can watch over and over again and still laugh.  Definitely a family friendly movie and one you'll enjoy watching often when it comes out on DVD!
